Rick Rees is co-founder and managing partner of LongueVue Capital and participates in all investment decisions and the day-to-day management of LVC. He is the former CFO of Halter Marine Group (AMEX:HMG), a $1 billion revenue company at the time of its merger with Friede Goldman, Inc. (NYSE:FGI). Both companies specialized in the design, construction, conversion and repair of a wide variety of marine vessels, mobile offshore rigs, and engineered products for commercial and government markets. Following the merger, he joined FGH as CFO and continued in that role until he left to start LVC. Prior to joining HMG, Mr. Rees was a managing partner in City Capital Corporation and its affiliated companies. City Capital was a private equity group with significant holdings in maritime related businesses. Its portfolio included shipyards, Penn Ship and Texas Drydock; a marine stevedoring and terminal operation, Penn Terminals; and a marine finance company, Maritime Capital Corporation, which was formed to purchase a portfolio of distressed loans and foreclosed vessels. Before joining City Capital, Mr. Rees was CFO and Director of Halter Marine, Inc., the antecedent of HMG, which was sold to Trinity Industries (NYSE:TRN) in 1983. Mr. Rees graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University with a BA in 1974 and earned an MBA in 1975. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
John McNamara is co-founder and managing partner of LongueVue Capital, sharing in all investment decisions and the day-to-day management of LVC. He has served as President and CEO of Stewart Capital, one of the Gulf South's largest privately-held investment companies, since 1996. Stewart Capital invests in a wide variety of industries and commercial real estate. Prior to joining Stewart Capital, Mr. McNamara was an investment banker at Drexel Burnham Lambert and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he specialized in leveraged buyouts, restructurings and principal transactions. During that time, he participated in 20 corporate finance transactions completed with aggregate dollar volume in excess of $5 billion. Mr. McNamara was also a member of the Heico Acquisitions team that successfully turned around LBO acquisition Davis Wire Corporation, a $125 million basic manufacturing company in Irwindale, California. Mr. McNamara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1992.
Carol Hance has been a Managing Director of LongueVue Capital since our founding in 2001. Ms. Hance has extensive experience as a private equity investor and as an investment and commercial banker dealing with small and middle market companies. Ms. Hance was the co-head of the Retailing Group at Kidder, Peabody & Co., responsible for the IPO, secondary, and merger and acquisition activities of the group. Ms. Hance headed the Asset Securitization departments of two Wall Street firms and managed a $5 billion loan portfolio at a multinational bank. In addition, Ms. Hance's operating experience includes serving as the Chief Sustainability Officer of a packaging logistics company and Chief Operating Officer of a wireless technology company. She has served on five corporate Boards and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ithaca College as well as a degree from Harvard University's Business School, Program for Management Development.
Ray Jeandron is a Partner at LongueVue Capital and is primarily engaged in performing financial and operational due diligence; processing and executing transactions; and supporting and monitoring portfolio companies. Prior to joining LVC, Mr. Jeandron worked in the investment banking departments of Jefferies & Company and Global Hunter Securities. At Global Hunter Securities, Mr. Jeandron was a senior associate in the Global Debt Capital Markets Group, where he advised growing and mid-sized companies on a broad range of transactions including restructurings, recapitalizations, and equity financings. At Jefferies, Mr. Jeandron was an analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group, where he worked on over $2 billion of debt and equity-linked transactions, including leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, and recapitalizations for middle market companies. He also has public accounting experience with KPMG's audit group. Mr. Jeandron graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Management with concentrations in Accounting and Finance.
Ryan Nagim is a Partner at LongueVue Capital and is primarily engaged in performing financial and operational due diligence; processing and executing transactions; and supporting and monitoring portfolio companies. Prior to joining LVC, Ryan was a Principal in the Buyout Group at American Capital, a global private equity fund and Business Development Company (“BDC”) with over $20 billion in assets under management. During his 10-plus year tenure with American Capital, Ryan advanced continuously and most recently led the evaluation and execution of control buyouts in middle-market companies. While at American Capital, Ryan served in a Board Director capacity for ten companies which collectively employed more than 5,000 individuals and generated over $1.0 billion in cumulative annual revenues. Prior to American Capital, Ryan was an Investment Banking Analyst at J.P. Morgan, where he executed approximately $3.0 billion of M&A transactions and was recognized as a top-tier performer. Ryan graduated Cum Laude with a BBA in finance from Southern Methodist University and received his MBA with Honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Charles Cox is a Director at LongueVue Capital and is primarily engaged in leading business development efforts and sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities for the firm. Prior to joining LVC, Mr. Cox was employed by Covey Capital Management, an equity long/short hedge fund in Atlanta, GA with over $75 million in capital under management. While at Covey, Mr. Cox sourced, analyzed and monitored investments in public equity securities across a wide variety of industries. Prior to Covey Capital, Mr. Cox worked as an Attorney for Atlanta-based law firm Allen, Kopet & Associates, where he specialized in insurance defense representing Fortune 500 companies. While there, Mr. Cox served as lead counsel for over 25 cases and co-counsel on over 50 cases involving contract disputes, employee relations and general liability issues. Mr. Cox earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia, where he was a Presidential Scholar and recipient of the Hope Scholarship, a JD from The Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler School.
Max Vorhoff is a Vice President at LongueVue Capital and is primarily engaged in performing financial modeling and transaction analysis; processing and executing transactions; and supporting all other investment activities of the firm. Most recently, Mr. Vorhoff was employed by the New Orleans Business Alliance, the official economic development organization of the City of New Orleans, where he worked to drive over $350 million in private capital investment via high impact corporate growth initiatives. Previously, Mr. Vorhoff worked as a financial analyst in the corporate finance departments of Houlihan Lokey and Global Hunter Securities, full-service investment banks located in Los Angeles, CA and New Orleans, LA, respectively. During that time, he assumed critical roles in a variety of M&A and leveraged finance transactions totaling more than $750 million. Mr. Vorhoff began his career spearheading strategic planning and financial evaluation practices for the optimization of a $35 million investment portfolio at American Express Co. in New York, NY. Mr. Vorhoff received his Bachelor of Science in Economics, cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Austin Rees is a Senior Associate at LongueVue Capital and is primarily engaged in performing financial modeling and transaction analysis; processing and executing transactions; and supporting all other investment activities of the firm. Most recently, Mr. Rees worked as a financial analyst for Moelis & Company, a global independent investment bank that provides advisory services on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and recapitalizations. During his time, he executed over $17 billion of M&A and leveraged finance transactions, in- and out-of-court restructurings, and fund recapitalizations for both publically and privately held companies across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Moelis, Mr. Rees worked as a Summer Associate at LVC. Mr. Rees received his Bachelor of Science in Finance with honors from the Wake Forest University School of Business.
Evan Golden is an Associate at LongueVue Capital and is primarily engaged in performing financial modeling and transaction analysis; processing and executing transactions; and supporting all other investment activities of the firm. Most recently, Mr. Golden worked as a financial analyst for Raymond James & Associates, where he was a Senior Analyst in the Energy Investment Banking Group focused on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity transactions. During his time, he worked on a number of transactions within the energy exploration & production, service & equipment and midstream sectors. Mr. Golden graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BSM in finance from Tulane University.
Sam Fihma is an Associate at LongueVue Capital and is primarily engaged in performing financial modeling and transaction analysis; processing and executing transactions; and supporting all other investment activities of the firm. Prior to LVC, Mr. Fihma worked as a financial analyst in the Corporate Finance group of Duff & Phelps, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt private placements, and transaction opinions. He worked on M&A transactions in the consumer and industrials sectors as well as fairness and solvency opinions across a wide range of industries. Mr. Fihma graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BSM in finance from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
Becky Toups serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for LVC, where she oversees the accounting, compliance and administrative functions of the firm. She also serves as the Controller for Stewart Capital, one of the Gulf South's largest privately-held investment companies. In addition, Mrs. Toups frequently works to support LVC portfolio companies with accounting and administration during critical phases of the firm's investments. She previously served as the Controller for City Capital Corporation, a New Orleans-based private investment firm. Prior to joining City Capital Corporation, she was employed by KPMG as a Senior Audit Manager in New Orleans. Mrs. Toups graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Louisiana.
