LongueVue Capital Announces Successful Conclusion of First Annual Sustainability Awareness Season and Exciting New Partnership with Glass Half Full
New Orleans, LA – LongueVue Capital (“LVC”) is proud to announce the successful completion of its first annual Sustainability Awareness Season, which took place from April 22nd, Earth Day, until the end of May. This initiative, led by Trent Romer, LVC Sustainability Operating Partner, is part of LVC’s ongoing commitment to promote sustainability practices within its portfolio companies and the broader community. The theme for this year’s Sustainability Awareness Season, community, highlighted the collective efforts required to enact meaningful environmental changes. During the sustainability season, LVC and many of its portfolio companies engaged in various service activities to help the community.
Through its participation in Sustainability Awareness Season, LVC partnered with a local organization Glass Half Full (“GHF”), a non-profit that recycles glass waste into sand and gravel for uses such as disaster relief and coastal restoration, to engage in a transformational project within LVC’s office building, which also houses several businesses, including a popular local steakhouse. Historically, glass waste in the building was discarded in regular trash receptacles. To address this issue, LVC reached out to GHF, to implement a glass recycling program throughout its building. Through this partnership, LVC, alongside building and restaurant management, initiated the first ever glass recycling program to collect and transport used glass bottles to GHF’s recycling facility. The collaboration marks a significant step in reducing waste and promoting recycling initiatives within the Greater New Orleans area.
Riley Singer, Director of Logistics at GHF, commented on the partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with LongueVue Capital is a substantial advancement in making glass recycling more accessible to local businesses. We are excited to continue our efforts together, aiming for a cleaner and more sustainable future by transforming waste into valuable resources that benefit both the environment and the community.”
Franziska Trautmann, Founder of GHF, also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, “We are honored to join forces with LongueVue Capital to divert more glass from our landfills. It is imperative for businesses across our community to engage in sustainability. We commend LongueVue Capital for their leadership and commitment to environmental stewardship.”
LongueVue Capital remains dedicated to fostering sustainability and is grateful for the participation of its portfolio companies and partners like Glass Half Full, who share this vision.
